Road Safety

Improving Our Local and Regional Roads

ROAD SAFETY IS A PRIORITY!

Road Safety is a  challenge that Caledon has struggled with for far too long. From the volume of Transport trucks to reckless drivers and congestion on our local and regional roads. Safety is paramount to our community!

I have been working with the Region of Peel to ensure that improvements are being made on Highway 50 and advocating for the extension of Highway 427 North to bring greater safety to our local roads.  I successfully removed Transport Trucks from Downtown Bolton, and I know that I can do this in all Villages across Caledon.

I have spoken to countless residents about this issue, including truck drivers who also live in our community who don't want to be using our local roads.  This is why we need effective leadership to push the Province to expedite building the necessary infrastructure to take trucks off our local roads while investing in other solutions such as transit and toll-free access to the 407, which is all needed to ensure our goods and services get to market safely and efficiently NOW!

As Mayor, I will continue my work with Regional staff on the widening and improvements needed on our Regional roads in Caledon.  I will ensure existing, and future road infrastructure meets the needs of today and tomorrow.
